Marceline::Character #2

Above image is the inspiration behind the Marceline doll I made and the image came from here.

So, all my kiddos are big fans of Adventure Time.

My daughter asked me to make her ALL of the characters... that's a big list.

First I made Finn the Human and now I've completed Marceline.  Next on the list is Jake I believe.  (gotta get more yarn colors tomorrow, well later today ;)

Here's Marceline.  I designed this doll from looking at images like the one above and wrote the pattern.  I will be listing the pattern in my Raverly shop and Etsy shop soon.  The doll will also be available when I get around to listing it (after Christmas -- I just can't start an order at this time with my babies out of school now for Christmas break).  If you are interested though you are welcome to comment and I can get in touch and add you to the top of my list when I start working after Christmas again.

Marceline has to have her Ax Guitar of course ;)

Miss Knit-Fit's Hair Bows

Miss Knit-Fit's Hair Bows

A free pattern for:

Finished Size: 5.25" in width

These are really simple and quick to work up.

These are basic instructions just to get the idea and you can change the length and width, even the stitch... Want to add some more details? Try working in BL (backloop) only or every other row ;)

So, grab your favorite yarn from your stash and a hook (I used a G)

Chain 21

Turn, SC in 2nd chain from hook and in each across (20)

Chain 1, turn. SC in each across including the first where you Chain 1 (20)

Repeat the last row for 12 times....

Now, just a piece of yarn (the color you want the center to be -- doesn't have to be the same as the bow (your current rectangle) Fold the center of the bow evenly squishing it together and tie that long piece of yarn around it, grab a hair elastic or two (I use two, more durable) .... and start wrapping tightly around the bow and through the hair elastics and finish off all end pieces and weave into the bow

Wah-Lah... You have an easy and simple hair bow :)

Next time I make more I will take some more photos through the steps and add them to this post for better visual details.

Introducing One-Di

The greatest feeling in the world is a smile on your little girls face...

My oldest daughter has been wanting her own kitty for some time now, but we've had a hard time finding this perfect kitty -- yes... she's been picky and rightly so.  So this morning, I get this call from a property manager in a few towns over that heard we were looking and welcomed us to come get a first pick.  We rushed straight over and they.were.A-Dor-ABLE!  All were diluted colors except for the one she picked. Yay! She finally picked one!  They were all gorgeous in their own way.  But, the one she picked, hmmmhmmm... the one that picked her is the sweetest little thing and is so beautiful.  She is so cuddly and just everything my daughter wanted and they are in love already and the lil bit just followers her around and cuddles right up with her and that sweet smile just spreads across my daughters face :)

So, then came time to name her....

Many names were thrown around -- Christmas, Mistletoe, and then One-Di.  That was it, the perfect name for the perfect lil kitty.  You see she is a huge 1D (One Direction) fan, she's 12 and hey they are cute lil guys who can sing :) I remember my NKOTB days but anywho...

It's pronounced "Wendy" but replace the wen w/ one... One-Di -- I LOVE it!

So here is lil One-Di enjoying snuggling with her new momma...

Miss Knit-Fit's Fingerless Mittens

Yay! A free pattern!!!

My daughter love fingerless gloves/mittens...

So I was on a mission to come up with a new pattern (and I have several variation ideas in my head -- when I get time...)

Simple Crochet Hair Bow

Here's a free pattern for a simple hair bow.

I found this yarn on clearance at A.C. Moore for $2 bucks a ball.

It's a baby yarn and is Pom Pom (sorry I lost the paper around it)

I used a N hook

Chain 13

Turn and sc in 2nd chain from hook and the next 11

Turn, chain one and sc in the 12 across

Make about 6 rows like this

You will have a rectangle

Cut a long (about 10-12") piece of yarn

Get your hair ties and tie the piece of yarn around the center of your rectangle and through the hair bows and continue wrapping tightly around and through the hairbows and tie off.

Simple and easy :)

Princess Bubblegum Hat

So I finished my new project.  A Princess Bubblegum (Adventure Time) hat was requested and of course I accepted the challenge and am very pleased with the way it turned out.

The back is longer than a typical hat and it is wavy to look like her pink hair and I finished it off w/ tassels ending in pink pom-poms.  I think my daughter wants one just like it now :) Might just have to work up another one to put under the tree for her ;)
